How Much Power Does a 500w Solar Panel Produce?

The 500W solar panels we typically on the market are the output power that the panels can be expected to produce under STC test conditions (1000W/m² light intensity and 25°C temperature).

But in the real world, due to the received geographic location, sunshine hours, seasons and temperature changes, different installation areas, the daily power generation varies, for example, in the southwestern region of the United States, due to the longer sunshine hours, the solar panels will generate more power; and in the northeastern region, due to the shorter sunshine hours, the power generation will be relatively low.

So all in all, the average daily power generation of a 500W solar panel is about 2KWH, and the annual power generation is about 731KWH.

Our 500W solar panels are manufactured with half-cut solar cell technology, which improves the efficiency of the cell by reducing the resistance loss. So the efficiency of our 500W solar panel is usually around 21%.

In addition to this, when you are choosing solar panels, besides considering their power output, you should also consider other factors such as the installation space and the overall performance of the system.

What is STC and Noct in solar panel?

STC stands for "standard test conditions," while NOCT stands for "normal operating cell temperature." STC is a measure of a solar panel's performance under perfect lab conditions, while NOCT is a measure of the solar panel's performance in the real world, under real-world operating conditions.

In real working conditions, the overall module temperature is usually much higher and could reach 40-50 ⁰C , which drops the performance of pv modules by about 0.5% for each 1°C rise in temperature.
